Kyrie Irving Expected to Debut With Mavericks vs. Clippers

Plus, don’t miss the Celtics and 76ers facing off in a key Eastern Conference clash.

History was made in the NBA last night when LeBron James passed Kareem Abdul-Jabbar for the most points scored in league history. The center of attention in the NBA stays in Los Angeles tonight, this time to watch one of James’s most prominent former teammates. Kyrie Irving is expected to debut tonight for the Mavericks against the Clippers in L.A. after his blockbuster trade from the Nets.

Here’s what I’m watching today.

The Mavericks’ trading for Kyrie Irving comes with plenty of risk, but the potential reward of surrounding Luka Dončić with another star may end up being worth the baggage that Irving brings with him. We could see how the Irving-Dončić partnership looks tonight in its debut against the Clippers, who’ve looked the part of a legitimate Western Conference contender in recent weeks. Dallas’s new duo taking on Kawhi Leonard and Paul George is a matchup well worth watching, and the Mavs will be one of the league’s most interesting teams to watch down the stretch of the regular season.
